Category: SSS News

On 22nd September, students of SO201: Society, Culture and Change embarked on the twice-yearly excursion for Pacific Harbour to see Fijian firewalking and other aspects of traditional Fijian culture at the Pacific Cultural Centre.

Students first enjoyed a boat-trip around the islands, where a guide explained various facets of traditional life, from weaving, tapa-making, canoe-making, starting fires without matches, fishing, and so on, to the types of weapons used in war.
