Dr Carmen Voigt Graf presents keynote address at the Future of Pacific Market Conference in June, 2006.
The Pacific Cooperation Foundation invited sociology lecturer Dr. Carmen Voigt-Graf to present a keynote address at the The Future of the Pacific Labour Market Conference. The event took place in Wellington from the 29 to the 30 June 2006 and generated a lot of media attention in New Zealand and beyond. The conference attracted more than 100 conference participants including senior public servants from several Pacific Island countries, academics, representatives of NGOs and donor agencies. The audience received, Dr. Voigt-Graf's topic "The Potential Social and Developmental Impacts of Temporary Movements of People in the Pacific" extremely well and journalists from The New Zealand Herald, Pacnews, Radio New Zealand and Radio Australia interviewed her before, during and after the conference.
