Graduand Speaker Asinate Korociwiri

"As I look out today, I do not see a 'blanket' of people but I see a 'patch quilt' of people: many patches, many pieces, many colors, many sizes, all woven and held together by a common thread. It is a beautiful sight to behold...Allow me to echo the statement of a truly great man in history, the late President of the United States - John F Kennedy, who said,  "ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country".

As a citizen of your beloved nation, may I rephrase that by saying - ask not what your country will do for you, but what you can do for your country..."

These were the inspiring words of graduand speaker Ms. Asinate Korociwiri at the September 1st graduation ceremony. Asinate graduated with a BA in Psychology and Sociology, and is currently tutoring in Sociology. She recently became a Fijian Affairs Board Scholarship recipent to complete an MA in Organisational Psychology in Australia next year.

She was the second graduand speaker this year to come from the School of Social Sciences. Ms. Leaine Robinson (BA: Industrial relations/Psychology) spoke at the April ceremony.
