Ratu Sir Lala Sukuna Memorial Lecture

Topic: Ratu Sukuna: Then, Now and Beyond
The speaker argues that Ratu Sukuna’s work included and engaged the ethnic Fijian concepts and theory of social capital that is now gripping the world in or global efforts on community engagement and connectedness through the United Nations, World Bank, governments, and NGOs well before its present popularity. In addition the speaker adds to the numerous voices calling for a greater investment on social capital in our global and global institutions, in the words of Ratu Sukuna “to inspire the weak”.
